Maitri Dore


Maitri Dore is a PhD candidate at the Department of Conservation, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture (KRVIA), Mumbai and a master’s degree in urban studies through the Erasmus Mundus+ 4Cities programme. Her master’s thesis focused on nation-building through architecture in postcolonial and post-socialist contexts, with specific reference to Budapest. Broadly, Maitri is interested in how the build environment is produced and reshaped by political and historical forces.

In the past Maitri also worked in architectural practice – designing sustainable homes in Bangalore, and on research related to affordable housing in Mumbai. Recently, she assisted on an exhibition and book Critical Care: Architecture and Urbanism for a Broken Planet at the architecture museum in Vienna.
